History

From humble beginnings in the homes of Swedish immigrants; to the purchasing of property for a foundation and sanctuary; through the devastation of the Flood of 1972; into the unique challenges of the present day: Emanuel Lutheran Church has proclaimed the Good News of Jesus Christ through Word and Sacrament, and through witness and service.  We recently celebrated our 100th year anniversary.

Although originally affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Augustana (Swedish) Synod, Emanuel has joined in a series of Lutheran mergers throughout this century.  We are now a member of the Upstate New York Synod of the nationwide Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, the largest single body of Lutherans in the United States.

A Christian congregation gathered by grace and sent to serve.
